You registered. Now let’s make your Walk count!

Every walker who fundraises helps ensure the Aroostook House of Comfort remains available for patients and families when they need it most. Last year, walkers raised an average of $175 each, bringing the total to more than $60,000. This year, we think we can do even better! It takes about five minutes to set up your page. Here’s how:

Step 1: Create your page: Log in, add a photo, and write one or two sentences about why you are walking. That is all you need to get started.

Step 2: Set a goal: Start with $175, the average raised per walker last year. Think of it as asking seven people for $25 each.

Step 3: Ask three people: Text or call three people who know you well. A personal ask is the most effective way to get your first donations.

Sample text message: “I’m walking in the Walk for Hospice to support the Aroostook House of Comfort. I’d be grateful for any gift you can make. Here’s my link: [insert link]”

Step 4: Share your page: Post on Facebook and ask friends to share it. You can also connect your RunSignUp page directly to Facebook.

Sample Facebook post: “I’m walking in the Walk for Hospice to support compassionate end-of-life care in our community. Every gift helps. 💜 [insert link]”

Step 5: Share Your Progress: Post an update, share a photo, or send a reminder as the event gets closer. People often mean to give and just need a nudge.
