Description
Kick off the 2024 racing season with Clear Lake's Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K races on Saturday, April 20th. The Youth Mile will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K & 10K races will begin at 9 a.m.
Youth Mile participants will make 3 loops around City Park, finishing by the seawall.
The 5K & 10K races begin lakeside at the Main Avenue boat ramp. Runners will make one loop around City Park before heading out along South Shore Drive. Once runners reach the designated 5K or 10K turnaround, they'll head back toward City Park, turning left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake.
For each race, prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as the top male and top female winners from the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
Sign up by March 21st to receive a shirt.
Clear Lake Earth Day 5K & 10K races are presented by the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and directed by Tyler Havens. Havens is the Clear Lake High School Head Cross Country Country Coach, Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, Head Track & Field Coach, Clear Lake Earth Day 5K & 10K Race Director and Freedom 5K Race Director.

The 5K turnaround is located at the Y intersection at 20th Ave South. Runners then head back toward City Park, turning left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake.

The race begins lakeside at the Main Avenue boat ramp. Runners will make one loop around City Park before heading out along South Shore Drive. At the 5K turnaround located at 20th Ave South, 10K runners will veer right at the Y intersection toward Clear Lake State Park. After running through Clear Lake State Park, runners will continue on South Shore Drive. The 10K turnaround is located near Lakeside Cyclery. At that point, runners will head back toward City Park, turning left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake.
