Trials of Miles East

This is the race registration site for the Eastern Iowa race (to be held at Iowa City West High School).  Runners EAST of Grinnell will compete at this location.  Runners in Grinnell & WEST will compete at the West region location.

This is the inaugural event, hosted by Fitness Sports, in support of the Track Guy Foundation.  The Trial of Miles will pit the Eastern Iowa high school runners against the Western Iowa high school runners to see which region looks to be the strongest heading into the cross country season.  The Eastern Iowa high school runners will compete at Iowa City West High School, while the Western Iowa high school runners will simultaneously compete at Simpson College.

The event will have two formats - runners can sign up as a team of 5 or they can sign up individually.  Runners that sign up as a team (must be on the same high school team) will be put into heats, with each team's number 5 runner placed in heat #1, their number 4 runner placed in heat #2, and so on.  Each heat will be scored like a cross country meet (1 point for each heat winner, 2 points for second, and so on).  We will then add up the points from each member and lowest total team score wins that region's "Team Title."   Those that sign up as individuals will be placed in the "Open" heat.

The East vs. West region winner will be determined by the cumulative time of the top 7 runners from each region.
