Remembering Loved Ones & Community Members: Over the last twelve years during the walk/run event, we have displayed memorial photos along the path to honor and remember those that are no longer with us. Currently, we have over 200 memorial photos. Each year we add more photos to the path. Participants are invited to include their loved ones in this memorial. This event brings our community together while sharing laughter and tears as they walk or run in honor of their family, friends, and neighbors.
For 2020 we will be displaying our memorial photos at Washington’s Central Park from Saturday, September 19th - Sunday, September 20th. Participants are invited to submit a favorite photo of their loved one, their name, special dates, and a short personal message to be displayed along the walking paths in Central Park. You may send photos and information by postal mail, email or you can bring them to our office. If sending digital images by email please make sure the photos are high resolution. Our contact information is located on the back of this brochure. The submission deadline is Thursday 9/17/2020.
Why do we do the 5K Walk/Run fundraiser? We fundraise in order to provide services for uninsured and underinsured patients. We are a non-profit, community-based hospice organization established in 1988. We are Medicare/Medicaid certified and we also accept private insurance. Additionally, we receive donations from community organizations, private individuals, and memorials. Throughout the year we sponsor several fundraising events. Please consider donating if you cannot participate in the event.
