YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon & Fun Runs are back and better than ever at a new location!

With the ever increasing interest and participation in the Famous Idaho Potato Marathon we have moved to an Iconic Idaho venue more suited to our event and the needs of our participants! The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is proud to bring you the 2024 Famous Idaho Potato Marathon presented by the Idaho Potato Commission from Albertson’s Stadium on the beautiful Boise State University campus!

All courses are flat and fast for this fun full, half, 10K & 5K run on the Boise Greenbelt. Here are some Fast Facts about the Famous Idaho Potato that might answer race day questions.

Packet Pick Up:  Friday, May 17, 3:00-7:00 pm for all distances!
Come pick up your packet and t-shirt, and visit with vendors before race day to ensure you have all the last-minute race day items. Avoid the lines on race day and pick up your packet on Friday. Albertson’s Stadium(1400 Bronco Way, Boise). We highly recommend picking it up on Friday, May 17th.
Half & Full Marathoners – Sat, May 18, 5-6:30 am at Albertson’s Stadium in the Finish Fair area.
 You must pick up your bib at Albertson’s Stadium before coming to the start. 
5K & 10K  – Sat, May 18, 8:30 am-10:00 am at Albertson’s Stadium

Packet pick up will be held at Albertsons Stadium (1400 Bronco Lnd, Boise)
Fri, May 17, 3-7 pm

You will receive your bib number, packet, and race shirt and have the opportunity to look at course maps and ask any questions. You will have the opportunity to visit with some vendors.

Courses:
Our courses are flat and fast. The marathon is a Boston Qualifier course and is USATF certified. You run along the Boise River and greenbelt through historical Warm Springs Ave in East Boise.   . 
5K & 10K start and finish at Albertson's Stadium (1400 Bronco Ln, Boise)
Full and Half Marathon start at Albertson's Stadium (1400 Bronco Ln, Boise) and finishes at Albertson's Stadium.

Water Stations

Water Stations will be approximately every 3 miles. Stations on the full and half will have Gatorade and water.
Restrooms are located at the start and finish areas and near each aid station.

Parking and "Potato" Shuttle

Parking at the Finish Line: 

For Half & Full Marathoners – please park in the Albertson's Stadium East lot.   
For 5K & 10K Runners –please park in the Albertson's Stadium West lot.
All distances finish in this area so you will be close to your car. 

“Potato” Shuttle for Full and Half Marathoners:

Thanks to our new venue and course we will not be needing shuttles!

Full & Half  Runners/ 5K/10K Runners: It might be chilly while you wait to start your race. You can check your warm-up clothes too. Please have your belongings inside a bag and marked with your race number. Please do not leave valuables inside your bag. 

Be prepared - have a bag and your number on it when you arrive at the race. There will be bags and markers available at the Gear Check Area. All athletes will be asked to show their bib/race number when picking up gear. The YMCA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Policies

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to the race/event will receive no refund. Cancellations made more than 15 days prior will receive a 50% refund either as a check or a system credit. The system credit may only be applied to another YMCA race/event within the current calendar year. Entries, once purchased, may not be transferred, resold, exchanged, or given to another person. We hope very much that you can join us on race day. We value your participation and want to provide you with a memorable and quality race day. Open to kids ages 6 to 14 of all abilities, this special one-mile journey kicks off at the historic Boise Train Depot, culminating in a festive Finish Fair at Cecil D. Andrus Park by the State Capitol.  Every participant is a winner, receiving a commemorative medal and a stylish T-shirt.

In-Person registration will only be available on May 30th at Big Al's from noon-7:00 pm.
