Not quite ready for the full solo ultramarathon? The 2-person Relay offers the same challenging out-and-back course—just shared. Each teammate runs one leg, facing rugged asphalt and elevation changes, while relying on their partner to finish what they started.

The 4-Person Relay is perfect for teams who want to take on the course together. Each runner completes a portion of the out-and-back route, combining individual effort with team support. It’s a fun, challenging way to experience the race while cheering each other on from start to finish.
8-Person Women's Relay

The 8-Person Women’s Relay brings eight runners together to conquer the Bone and Back as a team. Each athlete runs a portion of the course, combining individual strength with group support. It’s a challenging, rewarding way to experience the race while lifting each other through every mile.

All men. One course. One finish. The Bone and Back All-Men’s Relay divides the out-and-back challenge among teammates, turning a brutal course into a shared test of endurance and teamwork.
8-Person Coed Relay

The Coed Relay is a team option for mixed-gender teams who want to share the challenge of the course. Teams divide the rugged out-and-back route into relay legs, combining individual effort with teamwork. To qualify for the coed division, each team must include a minimum of two female runners.
8-Person Family Relay

Designed for relatives who want to take on the challenge together. Teams split the course into relay legs, sharing the miles, the climbs, and the experience. All teammates must be related in some way—by blood, marriage, or legal guardianship—making this relay about more than just running: it’s about family finishing together.

This 40 mile relay has been around in Southeast Idaho for 34 years now. Join today and run with a team of 8 (each person running 5 miles), a team of 4 (10 miles each), a team of 2 (20 miles each) or if you are feeling adventurous run the whole 40 miles!!! Come out with friends and/or family to enjoy a great event and great prizes!
