*THIS IS A PRIVATE ORGANIZATION. IT IS NOT A PART OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OR ANY OF ITS COMPONENTS AND IT HAS NO GOVERNMENTAL STATUS.*
Join us as we honor the 9th anniversary of the passing of Capt. "Piston" Imlay in a virtual and in-person 3.91-mile run. We ask that our virtual runners run prior to the in-person race and send in a video or picture of you doing it. Pictures and videos will be collected on March 24th and compiled into a tribute video to the Imlay family to be presented after the in-person run. At this time we will also present a total sum of donations collected to go to the non-profit of their choosing, Knights of Heroes.
No matter what option you choose, we appreciate your involvement and support!
OPTION 1- Run Virtually
Run 3.91 miles anytime from registration to March 23rd! Take a picture or video and send it to Beth Adams to put into the end ceremonies video for the Imlay family on the 27th. BONUS-- Buy a t-shirt and wear it during your run! The money goes toward Knights of Heroes Foundation.

OPTION 2- Run in Person
Select runners are welcome to join in person (up to 50 people). The in-person run will be at Mt. Home AFB on March 27th at 11 am. The race will end at the "Piston" Bar for a commemorative video, presentation of the check, and refreshments.

In honor of the Imlay family, we are donating to the non-profit of their choosing, Knights of Heroes. KOH empowers children who have lost a parent in service to our Nation by providing positive adult mentorship, character development, and lasting friendships, forged through outdoor adventure programs.
In the acknowledgment section of the donation page please put "PISTON IMLAY RUN" that way we can keep track of how much money is being given and give the Imlay family a total sum at the end.

About "Piston" Imlay
Captain Francis Dee “Piston” Imlay Jr, lost his life on March 28, 2012. In his 31 short years on earth, he really made an impact in the lives of others. In his short military career, he was able to fly multiple jets, instruct some incredible pilots, work with dedicated people, and travel to some amazing places. Dee made it a priority to take care of his brothers and their families as well as doing what it took to be a good Airmen. Dee loved flying and he always talked about what a blessing it was to be able to do it for a career. He was dedicated to his family and his friends and was known to quietly go out of his way to make sure others had what they needed and could be successful. His selfless service and the love of his country were only second to the love he had for his family. Dee embodied the character of a true hero. Dee’s legacy may be the one celebrated today, but really his legacy is a reminder of the extraordinary men and women who selflessly serve this amazing country every day. I know if Dee wanted to be remembered for anything, it would be that he loved and served well and that he inspired others to do the same.
