Jacey's Race

Jacey’s Race is a timed 5K running race for persons of all ages, with prizes for the top three competitors of various age groups. There is also a 1K-walk/ fun run for children and parents. In 2016 there will be awards and prizes, food, water, free water bottles and T-shirts for participants and we expect to have close to 1,000 attending the festive event. Jacey’s Race is free for children 12 and under! The race is organized and staffed entirely by non-paid volunteers. The money raised this year will go primarily to local families of children with cancer or life threatening illness, with gifts to local organizations that support children and families struggling with this burden.

We are happy to provide this event to the community. It promotes health and wellness through the run/walk activities. It promotes family unity by offering games and activities for children of all ages throughout the morning. It encourages local youth to interact with adults in their community whom they might not otherwise have a chance to know through the many volunteer positions available both in the preparation of the event and on the day of the event. And most importantly it reaches out to those children and their families who are facing the unimaginable, living with a life threatening illness. We welcome and thank all who give of their time, energy and resources to make this event possible and look forward to another successful event in 2016!
