Description

Join our newest R2R community challenge! The challenge will start April 4th, leading up to the SI 10k, June 11th!

Description:

The Unalome is a symbol of strength and perseverance. The symbol is a visual reminder that our journeys are more of an ebb and flow, rather than a straight line. This challenge uses run/walk intervals with flexibility and bonus goodies. Our goals include building distance and/or speed, healthy habits, and community.

Why is it flexible?

We are all at different places in our running/walking journey. Some are trying to build distance, while others are trying to build speed. Some are recovering from injury. Regardless of where you are currently, you can benefit.

What are the goodies?

This training plan will also include weekly cross training activities, yoga, recipes, and most importantly, support. We will celebrate our small victories and communicate through a FB Group.

How long?

10 weeks

When:

April 4-June 11. The SI 10k is June 11. This is a goal race. Signing up for the race is not required, but it’s motivating to have a tangible goal.

Cost:

$10 for the shirt. Candy will put the image of the unalome on the shirts and we will have a group tie-dying event to pretty them up. Participants may choose to opt out of the shirt option. The program is FREE.

Program:

We will use an intervals training plan. Runs can be runs or walks. We will provide suggestions weekly for the cross-training days, but participants can do their own thing too.

Communication:

We will be primarily communicating through our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/r2rourjourney and also via email list. Within this group, we can plan group runs/walk, in different areas of southern IL.
