Description
Registration & Packet Pickup
Secure your spot (and your shirt) by registering online before race weekend.
Packet pickup and in‑person registration will be available Friday from 5:00–6:00 PM at the Burgoo pavilion — look for the table next to the pie stand, because of course that’s where the real action is. Online registration will cut off at 4PM and will accept in-person registration at early pickup or in the morning of the race starting at 7:15AM.
Race‑day packet pickup begins Saturday at 7:15 AM, again by the pie stand under the pavilion.
General Information
Run 4 the Goo is a fun, friendly 5K run/walk held during the legendary Arenzville Burgoo, now celebrating 187 years of stirring that famous ‘goo.
Burgoo is small‑town magic at its finest — vendors, carnival rides, games, and FREE entertainment both Friday and Saturday night.
- Friday Night - We’re kicking things off with Kid Copter, featuring the one and only John Love — bringing hometown energy and the kind of tunes that pair perfectly with a bowl of Goo.
- Saturday Night - Local favorite Jaxon Dion opens the show, followed by country music legend Andy Griggs taking the stage. It’s going to be a Goo‑d time from first note to last.
And for our Goo’ers Away From Goo, the virtual 5K is still alive and well — run wherever you are, pun included.
Community Impact
Your miles make a difference. Funds raised stay right here in the community, with a large portion supporting Prairieland United Way (PLUW), serving Cass, Northern Greene, Scott, and Morgan counties. PLUW helps provide essential needs — food, shelter, health — for folks from young to old. Learn more at: http://www.prairielandunitedway.org/

Goo'ers Away From Goo!
During registration you will be asked if you will be a Goo'er Away From Goo this year, aka doing a virtual 5K. This will allow you to still register, support our local organizations, get that goo'vey t-shirt, and run wherever you are! All you need to do is:
1.) Register online by the deadline.
2.) Run 3.1 miles anytime during the week leading up to Run for the Goo (thru 9/13) wherever you are.
3.) Submit your run time by screenshot or a picture of your run by any tracking system you use to run4thegoo@gmail.com by midnight of the 8th (i.e. Strava, Garmin, RunKeeper to name a few) - Submission of time only necessary for overall winner.
