Registration and Packet Pickup
Race starts at 8:00 am. The packet pick-up/registration will start at 7:15 with the table next to the pie stand in the Burgoo pavilion. We will also have a packet pickup on Friday at the burgoo as well. In person registration and Early Packet Pickup for Friday will be from 5pm to 6:30pm also by the pie stand under the burgoo pavilion. Online registration will be closed during this time.

General Information
Run 4 the Goo is a fun 5K run and walk hosted during the Arenzville, IL Burgoo, which is celebrating its 185th year of stirring that 'goo. Burgoo is a small town festival with big heart. To go along with this very pun heavy race, Burgoo will have vendors, carnival, games and great FREE entertainment lined up for both Friday and Saturday night. Friday we are having local favorite, The Case Band. And on Saturday night is upcoming country music star Alex Miller! Lastly, we will still be holding our virtual 5k for our Goo’ers Away From Goo crew.

The money raised from this event will stay in the area, with a large portion being donated to the Prairieland United Way (PLUW) that serves several agencies in Cass, Northern Greene, Scott, and Morgan counties. PLUW funds programs that help young to old and providing essential needs of food, shelter, and health. To learn more about this amazing group, please visit http://www.prairielandunitedway.org/. The other portion stays in locally in Arenzville supporting many services such as last year's recipients: Green Pastures, Arenzville Library and Tutoring Center, Cass County Food Pantry, Arenzville American Legion, Ken Bradbury Foundation, and the Arenzville Volunteer Fire Department.

Goo'ers Away From Goo!

During registration you will be asked if you will be a Goo'er Away From Goo this year, aka doing a virtual 5K. This will allow you to still register, support our local organizations, get that goo'vey t-shirt, and run wherever you are! All you need to do is:

1.) Register online by the deadline.
2.) Run 3.1 miles anytime during the week leading up to Run for the Goo (8/31 thru 9/8) wherever you.
3.) Submit your run time by screenshot or a picture of your run by any tracking system you use to run4thegoo@gmail.com by midnight of the 8th (i.e. Strava, Garmin, RunKeeper to name a few) - Submission of time only necessary for overall winner.
