Insight Y.O.B Walk-A-Thon 2026
Walking For Our Youth!
Event Description
Join us for our annual 5K Walk-A-Thon in support of adolescent physical and mental wellness. This event helps raise funds for our 4-week summer camp serving students in 3rd through 8th grade. More than a summer program, this camp is designed to be a safe, active, and encouraging space for youth during the summer months.
Led by a longtime Maywood District 89 educator with more than 30 years of service, this initiative is rooted in the belief that adolescents need safe spaces, positive structure, and opportunities to stay active for their overall health and well-being.
Ways to Participate
What Your Registration Supports
Your registration does more than secure your place in the event — it helps make Camp Move! possible for local children and families. Funds raised through this walk-a-thon go directly toward supporting the camp experience, including:
-
Breakfast and lunch for campers
-
Weekly field trips
-
Weekly guest sessions and enrichment activities
-
New balls, ropes, games, and movement equipment
-
Certified coaches or educators to lead each camper group
-
Junior camp counselors to support camp leaders
-
A safe, active, and structured summer environment for youth
Every registration helps us create a summer experience that keeps kids engaged, supported, and moving.
Who Our Camp Serves
Camp Move! is a 4-week interactive summer camp for children in Maywood, Bellwood, Broadview, and Melrose Park. The camp is designed to give kids a safe, structured, and active place to be during the summer. Campers enjoy breakfast and lunch each day, take field trips every Friday, and participate in weekly guest sessions that add variety and enrichment to their experience.
Children are separated into groups, each with its own leader, so they receive support and guidance throughout the day. Movement is built into the camp experience every day — from morning walks to gym games and other active experiences that support both physical and mental wellness.
