The Chicago Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack presents its first ever "Do It Yourself" 5K Walk/Run!

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Currently, Blessings feeds nearly 6,000 kids in Chicagoland, but the number of food-insecure kids surpasses 150,000.

It is a “Do It Yourself” 5k run/walk done on your own time, at your own pace, and in your own place. You can participate any time between Saturday, November 7th, and Sunday, November 15th. Those who registered by 10/22 will receive their t-shirt prior to the race.  We will ship shirts after the race to everyone else who registers after 10/22.  

Registration prices:

  • $25 for student (under 23)
  • $50 for adult (23 and over)
  • $95 for adult + buddy*
  • $130 for a family (4-5 people)*

*Family and adult + buddy registrations should be made simultaneously to receive the registration discount. Shirts must be shipped to the same mailing address. A buddy is a friend of an adult registrant.
