Run for the Dogs 5k features a scenic course and proceeds from this event support Tails Humane Society!
Join us on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 9:00 am for an exciting "Run for the Dogs Themed" event! Run for the Dogs 5k Mutt Strut is a dog-friendly 5K run/walk-a-thon benefiting the over 2,800 animals cared for each year at Tails Humane Society. The race route follows the DeKalb Nature Trail, beginning and ending at beautiful Hopkins Park. Enjoy a scenic run with friends or family while benefiting homeless animals. Join us and run for the rescues! With awesome swag for all dog lovers and runners, this race is a sure thing for a great doggy good time! This race is timed and scored by J3 Timing. Results will be posted at www.J3Timing.com.
Packet Pickup will be held on Friday, September 29th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at

Packet Pickup will be held on Race Morning beginning at 7:45 AM.

Top (1) Overall Male and Female
Top (3) in Age Groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Important details:
- Competitive Runners, please start in the front of the line!
- There will be no age group ceremony. Please look up your results at www.J3Timing.com after finishing and if you placed top 3 in your category please visit the registration table to pick up your award.
- Age Group medals will be available for pickup at the registration table. Results will be Live! Age group awards are only available the day of the event and will not be available for shipment once the event has concluded.

FAQ Section
Can I Run with My Pet? Absolutely! We are running to support pets, pet lovers, and animal charities! So you can run or walk with or without your LEASHED pet!
Can I participate virtually? Yes, click here to register for our Virtual Run for the Dogs. Virtual Packets will be mailed out the week of September 15, 2023.
Are strollers allowed? You are welcome to use a stroller for this event but it is not recommended due to uneven ground on the course and children in strollers can participate for free and do not need to register.
Is walking allowed? Yes, Absolutely! We have as many walkers as we do runners (if not more!)
