Description
Kick off Ham City Fall Fest with our family-friendly Fall Fest 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk! Run through the heart of downtown Effingham, past local restaurants, shops, and businesses, and enjoy a fun, energetic start to the day.
Parents are welcome to register for and join the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk with their kids. Children 4 and under can run for FREE! If you’re already signed up for the 5K, you can also run the Fun Run/Walk with your child at no extra cost.
After the race stick around or come back for Fall Fest’s food trucks, beer tent, and live music starting at noon!

Parking Instructions
With most of Jefferson Avenue closed for the Ham City Fall Fest, we encourage participants and spectators to use nearby public parking areas. Convenient options include the public lot at Section Avenue and Third Street, the City Hall parking lot, and the Library parking lot. Please plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes to walk to the Start Line.
5k Race Course Map
The Ham City Fall Fest 5K kicks off at the Start Line on Jefferson Avenue near Bike & Hike and finishes on Jefferson Avenue in front of Wheat Penny, right in the heart of the Fall Fest festivities. Runners will head through downtown, cross the West Washington Avenue pedestrian bridge, and make their way to the turnaround on South 5th Street before retracing their steps to the finish. Along the way, the Effingham Police Department and our dedicated course marshals will be stationed at key crossings and turns to ensure a safe and enjoyable race experience for every participant.
