THE RUNNIN OF THE IRISH IS BEING CANCELED, But now we have made the event a FREE Virtual Race, free to sign up run whenever you like. Times recorded and sent to us to be posted in the rankings. Saturday March 21, 2020
In the past we have had great turn out for this race 300+ and we are very disappointed just like you that we are canceling. With COVID 19 virus prevention on social distancing and 250 gathering ban as well as pleas from our local government, family and friends.
We want to keep the health of you and your loved ones safe. A lot of you that are running this race are healthy and will be able to fight this virus. But if you were unknowingly infected or become infected and to pass it to someone who can not fight it off that would be devastating and we are not willing to put anyone in that position. Nor do we want our event to be irresponsible in thinking that "It just won't happen to us".
We have already ISSUED REFUNDS to all participants IN FULL including all registration and processing fees that had been collected. We wish only for this problematic circumstance to quickly be resolved. So that many things including running events and being with our best friends in the healthiest settings can come true once more without fear. We do urge you to join us in running the event virtually, run 3.1 miles on your own time or with friends or at another race. We will send an email with further instructions on the Free Virtual option. We will continue to have other events coming up, We will always be happy to see you there.
Please all our friends stay healthy in the upcoming weeks.
Ramie Clagg, Race Director
Additional race information can be found at http://www.irishrun.com/.
Runnin' of the Irish, 5k and 1 Mile is to be held for the 7th consecutive year at Tuscan Hills Winery. Encouraging good health, good business, good Music and Great vibes.
With our new venue we will be concentrating on providing a great experience so instead of the 5k & 10k we will be doing a 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run. We will reconsider bringing back the 10k event in 2021.
