Description

The Historic Marbold Farmstead Association (HMFA) in Greenview, IL is hosting a bike ride fundraiser that promises to combine fitness with community spirit. The HMFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Marbold Farmstead which is a piece of treasured Menard County living history. Bringing it back to a thriving Farmstead will serve to educate visitors about its role in our collective heritage as well as provide a place to gather and enjoy community functions. Whether you’re a seasoned cycling enthusiast or a casual rider, we hope you’ll strap on your helmet and join us for a fun day of fitness with a side of generosity to support our mission to preserve an extraordinary place that offers much to our community.

Ride Information

Riders will choose from two route options. The first is a family ride for all ages and consists of an approximate 2 mile roundtrip through Greenview. Several historic Marbold-related sites will be visited along the way. The second route, for more adventurous cyclists, is a 28 mile roundtrip from the Greenview High School to Petersburg and back again via the backroads of Menard County. Designated stops for “refueling“ within Petersburg include Broadgauge, 1st and 3rd Boutique and Wine Bar, and Hand of Fate Brewery. Both routes conclude at Greenview High School. Riders can enjoy free admission to The Heritage Days festivities.
