Friday, June 28th from 7 AM - 7 PM
Saturday, June 29th from 7 AM - 8 AM

Join us Saturday, June 29, 2024 for the 12th Annual Outrun the Cops 5k run/walk & 10K run for charity!
Proceeds benefit the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center.
This timed event begins and ends at the Gurnee Police Department with majority of the course on the Des Plaines River Trail. (The trail is crushed limestone, aid stations are positioned throughout the trail with water and Gatorade. Water, Gatorade and snacks are also provided at the finish line.)
Race Day Registration Beings: 7:00 AM
Race Start Time: 8:00 AM
Registration fees:
5K Walk/Run $45 (Includes T Shirt for the first 200 participants)
10K Run $55 (Includes T Shirt for the first 200 participants)
***FINISHER MEDALS FOR THE FIRST 200 RUNNERS TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE***
Children 10 and under are free with paid adult registration
Medals awarded to the top 3 males and top 3 females for the following age groups:
12 & under, 13 – 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 AND 70 AND OVER
The Gurnee FOP Social Lodge #266 is a charitable organization under 501 (c)(8) TAX ID 36-3984361. This fundraiser is a collaborative effort between Gurnee Fraternal Order of Police Social Lodge #266 and the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center (LCCAC). Proceeds benefit the LCCAC and other local charities.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is Packet pick-up?
You can pick up your packet at the Gurnee Police Department on Friday, June 28th from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. in the Community Room. 100 N O'Plaine Rd, Gurnee IL 60031. Packets will also be available on race day.
Do you really get to OUTRUN the COPS?
Yes! Gurnee Police Officers and Police Officers from surrounding communities will participate in the run. They line up at the rear of the race and they try to beat you to the finish line.
Can I wear a costume?
Yes! Cops chase robbers so feel free to wear running attire or a themed costumes
What are my parking options for the event?
Free Parking - Available at the Warren High School on O'Plaine.
Can participants or businesses get their pictures taken with the Police Officers at the event?
Yes! Will have an area set up so that participants can get photos with Officers and Police Cars
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Strollers are welcome but must start in the rear of the race.
If I own a business can I set up a tent and hand out material?
