Description

Join the Lake County Opioid Initiative and our community partners for the Overdose Awareness 5K Run/Walk, a community event dedicated to remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those in recovery, and raising awareness about the ongoing opioid crisis.
This family-friendly event offers a space for reflection, hope, and connection.

Event Purpose

  • Honor the lives lost to overdose and support loved ones affected.
  • Promote education and reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorder.
  • Unite community members, organizations, and families in remembrance and action.

Event Schedule

Check-in:  9:00-10:00 a.m.
Welcome & Kick-Off Ceremony:  10:00 a.m.
Race Start:  10:30 a.m.
Resource Fair:  9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
     Family Friendly, Dog Friendly (on-leash), Food Trucks

This registration fee includes an event t-shirt and participation at the resource fair during the event, with information and various giveaways from our partnering organizations.

$35 for adults
$20 for children 5 to 12 years old
Free --kids 4 and under

If you are unable to walk or would like to donate to the event, you can do so by clicking the donations tab above, or as part of your registration.

T-shirt Pick-up

We will be hosting a drive-thru event so you can pick up your walk t-shirts in advance. T-shirts will also be available for pickup on the day of the Walk/Run event.  Future emails will be sent out to registrants with more information.

 

All proceeds go to the Lake County Opioid Initiative, a 501(c)(3) organization, and support our mission to lead a coordinated, culturally responsive, county-wide effort to prevent substance use disorder, overdose, and death, and to strengthen pathways to recovery and community wellness.
