Description
The Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich proudly present the 44th Annual Lake Zurich Alpine Races! The Alpine Races 5k and 10-mile courses are USATF certified. The races run through the streets and along the shores of beautiful Lake Zurich. Gatorade and Water will be available along the course. No dogs, strollers, bikes, or rollerblades are allowed in the races please. Keeping with the Race Industry standard, the Alpine Races will not issue refunds or defer for registration made online, by mail, or on race weekend.

The Alpine Runners 10 Mile Run is the 2024 Illinois RRCA Championship 10 Mile Run.
The Alpine Runners 10 Mile Run is a 2024 CARA Racing Circuit Race.
SCHEDULE OF RACE START TIMES
- 10 Mile Run/Walk: 7:30 AM
- 5k Run/Walk: 7:45 AM
- Youth Mile & 1/2 Mile Fun Run: 9:15 AM (Both races run concurrently)
- Kids Fun Runs: 9:30 AM or after completion of youth mile
Notes:
- For the kids Fun Run, the registration will be open until 9AM for One Mile and 1/2mi. And 9:15 for the other shorter kids runs.
- Kids 1/2 Mile fun run, and all yards dashes are untimed. All participants are winners!!!
- Race day packet pick for kids end at 9:15 AM
PREMIUMS/GIVEAWAYS/SPECIAL FEATURES
Participants in the 10 Mile and 5k will receive an official high-quality race shirt (for the first 300 registered runners) available in sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, and youth sizes (S, M, L). Register before July 25th to ensure you receive the appropriate size.
Prizes: Overall male and Female first-place winners in 10 Mile and 5K races will receive a $150 Gift certificate from Road Runner Sports. In total four gift certificates, in addition to Prize medals. Category prize medals. Please check-in at the awards table, 15 minutes after you cross the finish line.
All participants will receive a Finisher Medal.
Youth Mile and Kids run participants will receive T-shirt sizes– Youth: XS, S, M, L, and XL.
All will receive an official race packet, a goodie bag, snacks, and beverages.
Post-race light Breakfast donated by Good Shepherd Hospital.
2024 RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICKUP
In person Registration and Packet Pickup will be available at: Road Runner Sports, 20291 N Rand Rd, Suite 105, Kildeer, IL 60074 (847-719-8949) on
- Friday August 16th from 4-7PM.
- Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Race day registration and packet pick-up will also be available at Breezwald Park park from 6:00am-7:15am. Pre-registration is highly recommended to guarantee shirt sizing.
Youth mile and Kids Fun Runs registration and packet pick-up open from 6:00-8:45am.
Gear check will be available on Race Day at Breezewald Park.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are the backbone of every successful race and we are grateful for ours. But we need even more people to help us with packet pickup, the water stops, and the finish line! Please consider volunteering a few hours of your time on race day. You won't regret it.

AWARDS: Awards will given to the top three male/female in each age category.
Kids Fun Runs
Kids Fun Runs: 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile, and 100 yd dash
Kids Runs will meet on the grassy area next to the Breezewald parking lot
Start times:
1/2 mile starts at 9:15AM
1/4 mile starts at 9:30AM or after completion of Youth mile and 1/2 mile.

From I 94 Chicago, At Exit 21, head on the ramp right and follow signs for IL-22, Turn left onto IL-22 / Half Day Rd Pass Wendy's on the right in 4.1 mi,Turn right onto E Main St, 0.3 mi Bear right onto N Old Rand Rd Turn left 194 ft Arrive at your destination on the right; The last intersection before your destination is N Old Rand Rd
FROM THE SOUTH: Take Route 53 North and exit Lake Cook Road-West. Take Lake Cook Road to Rand Rd. (Route 12) and turn North (right). Take Route 12 To Route 22 and turn right, on to Rt 22. Then Left on E. Main St.
FROM THE NORTHWEST: Take Rand Road South. Turn left on Route 22 . Then Left on E. Main St.
Where can I park?
Parking is free and ample. Look for the volunteers with arrow signs.
Is there Gear Check? A secure area will be reserved for gear check inside the Breezewald Park, located near the registration area. We are not responsible for valuables left in gear check. All bags will need to be picked up by 10:30am.
When can I get my Race Results? Results are immediately available the day of the race by J3 Timing. Online race results will be available at www.alpinerunners.com and here.
