Catalyst Race Series

Race #1: September 9th

The Catalyst Race Series is back with its first race of the season at Touch of Nature on September 9, 2023! This race will take place on the professionally-designed and built MTB trails at SIU's Touch of Nature.  

Three levels of racing will be offered, with Experts doing 3 laps, Sports class doing 2 laps, and Beginners/Youth doing 1 lap. Each course will be between 8 and 10 miles per lap. The course will be taped and spray painted for fun and fast racing, helping even first-time riders on these trails easily fly through the woods.  

When the racers are finished, there will be a fun podium ceremony for the winners with lunch and ice-cold drinks available. We will recognize the top three male and female riders in each category.

Race #2: Spooky Catalyst - October 28th

Join in the fun of the second installment in the Catalyst Race Series: The Spooky Catalyst! Taking place on October 28, 2023, this race will take place on the professionally-designed and built MTB trails at SIU's Touch of Nature.

Three levels of racing will be offered, with Experts doing 3 laps, Sports class doing 2 laps, and Beginners/Youth doing 1 lap. Each course will be between 8 and 10 miles per lap. The new TrailMix category will also be added which welcomes bikers of all ages and with all types of bikes to join in the fun!

9:45 AM - Racer Pre Talk 

10 AM - Race Starts

10 AM - Bar opens

11 AM - Grill opens

11 AM - Kids Race Starts

~1:30 PM - Awards

2 PM Kitchen Closes

When the racers are finished, there will be a fun podium ceremony for the winners with lunch and ice-cold drinks available. We will recognize the top three male and female riders in each category. All attendees are invited to join in on the family-friendly Halloween themed activities including the costume contest as well. So, dress to impress!
