Year of the Nurse.

In February 2020, Covid-19  spread across the globe, arrived in America and disrupted our individual daily lives. The World Health Organization's official Year of the Nurse morphed into the challenge of a lifetime for Nurses.

Nurses are infection prevention experts, made for times such as these and we kicked into high gear, educating all people in our sphere of influence. 

Along with our scientific perspective, we showed up every day to love people with our whole hearts and hold their hands as the world changed instantly. 

Nurses are physical, mental, emotional and spiritual warriors bravely standing with others at the cusp of life and death. We hold the liminal space like no other human or profession on the planet. 

We walk endless steps up and down hospital halls to care for you.

We advocate for you and always support human rights with out discrimination or bias.

We know just where to point you to find the support you need during immense times of stress.

We pump your chest and restart your heart. We cry with you and we pray for you, in our unique ways.

Nurses are America's superheros.

The health and safety of our healthcare providers ,supporters and families is our first priority, and that extends to our community as well, so the DTDNS race organizers made a quick pivot to provide the 2020 DTDNS 5K as a virtual event.

We cannot wait to gather in 2021 for our 10 year celebration, but for now, you can support the future of nursing and the Danielle Turner Dohrman Nursing Scholarship with us from anywhere!

Student nurses, you are the Nurses of the Future!                                                                                                                                                                                             The Danielle Turner Dohrman Nursing Scholarship invites you to share your ideas, insights and visions for Nursing in 2020 and beyond.                                                      Share your vision for your future nursing career in a short essay, 250 word minimum, and email to Angelia Scott @ cathlabtravelnurse@gmail.com for the nursing scholarship consideration. 

Danielle Turner Dohrman Nursing Scholarship is an ally and works to maintain this scholarship and race as a safe, all inclusive space for all LGBTQ humans, races and religions.

Scholarship recipient requirements include current enrollment in an LPN, ASN, BSN or MSN nursing program and an enthusiastic desire to spread the word for #DTDNS5K and to sign up as many friends and family as possible for the 5K!

Scholarship registration opens Sept 14, 2020. Scholarship deadline is October 14, 2020.
