REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON October 19, 2022 - NO EXCEPTIONS - RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS.
IN-PERSON DOG RACING:
There are 50 spots available for dogs to join the in-person FLR 5k! Only one dog allowed per participant. You must choose the "Virtual 5k + ONE DOG ENTRY" when registering your pet. Additional cost covers a finisher medal for your pup!
VIRTUAL RACING:
November 1 and December 31, post your results online, and receive your race swag in the mail! Shipping is included with the price of registration. *All race swag will ship in mid to late November.
For those of you wondering about FLR's virtual race fee, don't forget that $20 of every entry fee is donated to non-profit animal rescue organizations! Here is what the rest of your fee covers:
- Donation ($20)
- Finisher Medal ($5-9 depending on quantity)
- Shipping ($5-6)
- In-Person + One Dog Entry includes an additional medal for your dog PLUS a pet swag bag!
RACE RULES:
5k participants must be at least 14 years of age by race day.
No refunds issued unless the race is canceled at the fault of Four Legged Running.
The 2022 FLR 5k is an open course. This means that roads will not be closed for this event, runners must be cautious and share the road with drivers. Traffic control will be present at 3 busy intersections to aid in traffic stops and to allow participants across the intersection. Be prepared to stop if needed. While we welcome competitive runners to FLR events, safety and fun are our first concerns. This is a fun run to support a great cause!
Maximum of 500 participants.
One dog per racer permitted to race, maximum capacity of 50 dogs will be allowed to race. If you are not able to register your pet due to capacity, please bring a spectator to stay with your pet while you race so that you can all attend the Downtown Dog Day event after the race!
Strollers are allowed and must start race at back of the pack.
Race Day Rules for Pets:
- Maximum of 50 dogs will be allowed to race
- Only 1 dog per participant allowed
- Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash or they will be removed from the course
- All humans must carry dog waste bags and clean up doggy poop
- Do not approach other dogs before speaking with their humans and allowing a slow introduction
- keep dogs at a safe distance from one another at the start line to avoid altercations
- If you have an aggressive pet, please let them stay in the safety of their own home - you can sign your pup up for the virtual race to run for rescues without a crowd
- Be cautious of your pet's health and safety
- If your dog has never run a 5k, please discuss with your vet, then be sure to gradually train them gradually and properly as a human would or refrain from entering at this time
Weather Policy:
Race director has the authority to cancel or delay the race due to extreme weather conditions. The race may be canceled or cut short due to weather, should the event begin, but weather worsens during the course. In the event of weather cancelation, there will be NO refunds.
Race Training:
Follow FLR's 12-week 5k training plan which includes FREE workouts! Start training on July 31 in order to finish the 12-week plan by race day!
