Join us for the first ever annual "Run to the Castle 5K race" to benefit Stronghold Camp & Conference Center in Oregon, IL. Stronghold Center is a four-season retreat and camping center, operated by the Presbytery of Blackhawk, Presbyterian Church (USA). Our facilities include wilderness cabins, a camping area, dining and meeting rooms, and seven retreat houses able to accommodate 6-56 guests. Located in Oregon, IL, the beauty of nature exists in a variety of environments, all along bluffs overlooking the Rock River.
Packet pick-up and check-in runs from 9am-9:45am; race day registration also available at this time. Race begins promptly at 10am. The course will start at Brubaker Lodge and run to the edge of the property and follow the tree line to end in the Castle Courtyard. The entire course is run either on grass or gravel. Each participant will receive a commemorative pint glass as well as two free castle tour tickets to be redeemed following the race. Prizes will be given for the overall male and female winner at 10:30am. Race is not chip-timed, but results times willl be recorded and results will be available the following Monday online. The first 100 participants to register will receive a custom Stronghold "Run to the Castle" 5K pint glass (supplies not guaranteed for race-day entries).
Parking will be available for free onsite.
