Description
Join the Springfield Junior League and walk or run 45 miles in October to support our mission of addressing food insecurity in the Springfield, IL community. This virtual event encourages you to get moving at least 1.5 miles per day for the entire month of October, in doing so you will travel virtually roughly the distance across Sangamon county!
This year instead of swag, we are offering a chance to win a premium prize! Those who register AND complete the 45 mile distance will be entered to win either a free entry to Abe's Army or the equivalent value gift card to the Springfield Running Center, an approximate $60 value. Two winners will be selected from those who enter and will be able to choose which prize they receive. Winners will be notified on or after November 1st 2023.
The Junior League of Springfield (JLS), a 80-year-old local service organization, adopted an Issue Based Community Impact model in 2014 in order to better strengthen the skills of members and create more community impact. Since establishing “food insecurity” as their focus area, JLS has committed over 200 hours of service toward this issue.

FAQ
How do we track mileage/distance?
RunSignup is now offering options for challenge participants to track mileage through the race website. When you click on results you will be able to enter your own personal results into the system. We are tracking on the honor system, the hope is that this will be a personal challenge for you to accomplish, no fibbing!
Is there a packet pickup?
No packet pickup this year! All participants who complete the distance will be entered to win their choice of the Abe's Army Registration or the gift card to the Springfield Running Center of equivalent value. Two winners will be selected!
