We have 2 Races in 2024!
Join the Springfield Junior League and walk or run in October to support our mission of addressing food insecurity in the Springfield, IL community.
The Junior League of Springfield (JLS), a 85-year-old local service organization, adopted an Issue Based Community Impact model in 2014 in order to better strengthen the skills of members and create more community impact. Since establishing “food insecurity” as their focus area, JLS has committed over 200 hours of service toward this issue.
Virtual 45 Mile Challenge
Our Virtual 45 Mile Challenge event encourages you to get moving at least 1.5 miles per day for the entire month of October, in doing so you will travel virtually roughly the distance across Sangamon county! Run or Walk everyday in October or Run or Walk some days in October - either way you are moving at your own pace!
- Every participant will get a special token in the mail at the the end of the month!
Fun Run Relay Race - CANCELLED
Our Fun Run Relay Race is an in-person 2 hour event at Centennial Park (5919-5999 County Rd 3 S, Berlin, IL 62670) on Sunday October 27th, 2024 in Springfield, IL where you and your bestie can form a team of two and take turns running or walking a 1 mile loop. Prizes awarded to most miles completed (male, female, & mixed), and best team outfit! Water and Gatorade will be provided for participants. Please note this on unpaved grassy trail.
Folks can sign up for the virtual challenge, the fun run, or both! Please note that both team members will need to register themselves for the in-person Relay Race event to participate.

FAQ
1. How do we track mileage/distance for the Virtual Challenge?
RunSignup is now offering options for challenge participants to track mileage through the race website. When you click on results you will be able to enter your own personal results into the system. We are tracking on the honor system, the hope is that this will be a personal challenge for you to accomplish, no fibbing!
2. How will mileage be recorded for the Fun Run Relay Race?
Each team will be responsible for checking in with the volunteer table as they finish their mile to have their lap recorded. This is on the honor system so be honest! Remember this is just for fun :)
3. What does the Fun Run Relay Race Course look like?
