Description
This team relay run will take place on June 1, 2019 beginning at 4:00 pm and is your chance to get a team of four together and compete on the 1-mile loop of the world’s fastest dirt race track. Each team will race for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place position in either the Male, Female or Coed team brackets. Even those without a team can still join the fun by being placed on a random 4-person team.
The registration fee is just $25 per person until May 15th and then the fee increases to $30 per person. Your registration includes a dri-fit race t-shirt, free post race food, 1 free beer and everyone receives a finishers medal!
This is a one-of-a-kind race on the world’s fastest one-mile race track in the Grandstand of the Illinois State Fairgrounds where all the State Fair performances are held. Participants should plan to stay for the Corndog Kickoff after-party to enjoy the beer, bands and fair-food at the Pork Pavilion on Grandstand Avenue. Following the Corndog Kickoff, an after-after party is scheduled for 11 pm at The Stadium Bar and Grill, 2300 N Peoria Road

Packet Pick up will be at The Springfield Running Center, 2943 W. White Oaks Drive, 62704 on Friday May 31, 2019 from 4:30-6:30 PM. You may also pick up your packet on race day Saturday June 1, 2019 at 3 PM.

A sampling of everyone’s favorite fair foods, plenty of ice-cold beer, live musical performances, a 4-mile relay race and more can be found at this year’s Corndog Kickoff hosted by American Business Club of Springfield (ABC), Pepsi and Skeff Distributing. The June 1st event will serve as a summer preview party and kickoff to this year’s Illinois State Fair. The events will be held at the Pork Pavilion and Grandstand on Grandstand Avenue in the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The free post party event is open to all and will be held from 4 pm – 11 pm. In addition to getting your first taste of summer fair foods, the event also includes free live musical performances, a 4-mile relay race on the world’s fastest dirt race track, prizes, beer and more. You simply won’t get another opportunity like this…a summer kickoff party and Illinois State Fair preview combined into one free event.

One of the Midwest’s most popular bands, Broseph, will be performing in the Pork Pavilion from 8-10 pm. Listeners can expect to be blown away by this high energy band with influences ranging from country, rock, pop, punk and more. Pouring their heart and soul into every show as they continuously span the country, the highly talented act frequently plays at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon and has recently opened shows for Steven Tyler, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Old Dominion, Luke Combs, Granger Smith and more. Broseph shares one mission...to bring people of all types together by throwing a party with their songs and live show!
PROCEEDS GO TO A GOOD CAUSE!
All proceeds from this event will go toward the Amtrykes Program, a program that gives therapeutic tricycles to people with disabilities. These unique trykes are designed to accommodate riders of all ages and a myriad of physical and/or developmental challenges. Through fundraising efforts at the Illinois State Fair and private donations, Springfield ABC is pleased to provide these bikes free of charge to children and veterans with disabilities. With all proceeds from this event going toward the Amtrykes Program, every beer you buy is providing an opportunity for a disabled person to ride a bike alongside their friends and family members.
