Description

As you know 2020 was a tough year for many and this has been true with Project Mobility. Our 3 largest fundraisers in 2020 were either postponed, changed to virtual or canceled. Everything we do at Project Mobility relies HEAVILY on these events. We are still trying to recover from such a tough year.

Those with disabilities are still in need, actually in need more than ever with more families staying home and doing more outdoor/safe activities such as bike rides.

It may sound like such a simple activity but to those with mobility challenges (along with the hefty price tag of an adaptive bike) makes it nearly impossible for them to enjoy the freedom of mobility without our help.

Adaptive bikes provide life changing mobility, strength, self-esteem and the ultimate freedom for children, adults and veterans with disabilities. Cycling restores the possibilities to those whom are often told by society that their life is about limitations.

Please consider joining us today!

Not comfortable with an in person event yet? No worries! We will have a virtual option for those not ready yet or for those that live too far to attend in person. Click "Virtual" when registering! What is a virtual 5K? Click here to learn more!

*Participants registered by 9/23 are guaranteed a Race T-Shirt and all additional swag purchased.

**Virtual 5K Price includes shipping of (1) t-shirt and finisher medal. Any additional items will be an additional fee and we will reach out with additional shipping cost.

-----------------------------------------------

Project Mobility is hosting our 5th annual 5K beer run. Hops for Hope 5K is a twist on the traditional 5K! The event is timed and the course is certified, whether you are a serious runner or walker who loves beer, this event is for you. We have 4 different options this year; In-Person 5K with Beer Stops, In-Person 5K with No Beer Stops, Virtual 5K and Awards Ceremony Only.

The In-Person 5K will start at the beautiful Mount Saint Mary Park in St. Charles and head towards Geneva on the scenic path through Wheeler Park and ends back at Mount Saint Mary Park for the Award Ceremony!

Proceeds benefit Project Mobility's mission to bring adaptive cycling opportunities to the lives of children, adults, and wounded service members with emotional and physical challenges.

THAT'S A WEIRD TWIST?! We think you mean delicious and fun! Throughout the 5K there will be 6 Refueling Stations (Beer Stops) featuring local craft breweries handing out 3-ounce beer samples to runners.

The Award Ceremony will feature a live band, more beer, food and Adaptive Bike Giveaway Presentation.

*All runners must be 21 years or older and show a valid ID day of the race.

Who is Project Mobility

Project Mobility is the nonprofit 501(c)3 organization of The Bike Rack in St. Charles. Our mission is to provide the freedom of mobility to children, adults and wounded soldiers with disabilities through adaptive cycling.  2019 had been a year of tremendous growth for Project Mobility. We are proud to announce that we gave 14 adaptive bikes to children and adults with disabilities.

Our Crew provided over 40 adaptive bike days with many different disability organizations, hospitals, and schools. We were able to give the freedom of mobility to many amazing people! Here are a few stories.

Junior: A father who ended up in a wheelchair from getting shot protecting his daughter.|

Avery: A child with such a rare gene mutation only 4.5 people out of 10 million world-wide have it.

Tynan: A child that was almost 5 years old that underwent an anatomical left hemispherectomy, in which surgeons removed the left side of his brain.

For 2020 we want to top those numbers and need your help!
Hops for Hope 5K will help us reach their goal by starting the year off right!
