Giving Back

The Run Iron Mountain strives to give back to the community we love in many ways.  The first is by offering an event where we can come together to support a healthy lifestyle while celebrating and highlighting the beauty of our community.  Our race offers a great hometown feel with local bands, first responders, and volunteers spread throughout the course.

It is important to our race board that proceeds from the race are used to support local families in need.  For the past ten years, Run Iron Mountain has donated proceeds from the race to the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet (DCCLC). The DCCLC is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers that assists both cancer and non-cancer patients.  The Loan Closet offers medical equipment at no cost, as well as financial assistance to those in need.  The 2021Run Iron Mountain Road & Trail Half Marathon & 5K event raised $27,000, our largest donation to date!  Over the past ten years, Run Iron Mountain has raised $133,500 for the DCCLC.

We value the youth of our community and want to support graduating seniors as they begin the next step of their journey.  In addition to the donation to the DCCLC, Run Iron Mountain offers two $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors.   This scholarship looks for students that have participated in cross country or track and have run in or volunteered at this race or other similar events that promote wellness.

We would like to thank our volunteers, attendees, and sponsors for making the the past ten years a success.  Without their continued support, this donation would not have been possible.
