5K Run/Walk in Downtown Crown Point

Join Race the Region and the Old Sheriff's House Foundation on Saturday, November 9, 2024, for a fun and exciting 5K run/walk through the heart of Crown Point, Indiana. This fall event offers participants a chance to experience a flat, scenic route along beautiful, tree-lined Main Street, perfect for both competitive runners and casual walkers alike.

Date: Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
Location: 226 South Main Street, Crown Point, Indiana (Old Sheriff's House - Downtown Crown Point)
Course: The 5K route begins in front of the historic Old Sheriff's House and Jail, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Old Sheriff's House and Jail was once considered one of Indiana's finest and most secure jails. However, on March 3, 1934, the infamous gangster John Dillinger made a daring escape from this very jail, defying its reputation as "escape-proof."

The awards ceremony will commence at approximately 9:30 AM or after the last participant finishes the race.

Overall and Age Group Awards that are not collected can be claimed at The Extra Mile Fitness Co., located at 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN 46383, within 14 days post-event. Any awards left unclaimed after this period will be donated or recycled. Participants who fail to collect their race shirt on or before the day of the race will not be assured of receiving one.
