Run for the Sun Virtual 5K

Arts for Learning is excited to present our first virtual 5K fundraiser Run for the Sun! Run for the Sun is the perfect event for individuals or families looking to be active outdoors while enjoying the bloom of spring. From May 1-31, participants can run, walk, or even cycle the 5K any place or time to support our cause. This event will support Arts for Learning in our mission of empowering youth and expanding their learning through creative arts experiences. Must register by April 15th to guarantee t-shirt size! 

Registration Fee: $25.00 adults + Run Sign Up Fee | $10.00 youth (5 - 12 years) + Run Sign Up Fee

Creative Course

The Creative Course begins and ends at our office parking lot located at the 16 Park Community Building. Along this course which goes through Kennedy King Park, Fall Creek Place, and Herron Morton, participants will see sidewalk chalk art and yard signs designed by local artists! On Saturday, May 1 from 9am-12pm our team will be stationed at the parking lot with treats and giveaways for participants running the creative course!

Run Challenges 

Through the month of May, participate in our run challenges for a chance to win prizes. Winners could receive a gift card to Brics (Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station)! More prizes coming soon. 

• Social Media Challenge –Take a photo with the yard signs on the Creative Course! Tag us @arts4learningin and use #runforthesunindy. Photo with the most likes wins. 
• Creative Costume Challenge –Take a photo in your creative costume! Tag us @arts4learningin and use #runforthesunindy. Best creative costume wins. 
• Biking Challenge – Not a runner or walker? Bike the 5K! Best cycling time wins. 

NEW Challenge! 

• Stop By Challenge - Take a photo with your run t-shirt in front of Baby’s Restaurant on the Creative Course! Tag @arts4learningin @baby_indy and use #runforthesunindy. Photo with the most likes wins a gift card to Baby's! 

What do I receive?

Participants receive:

• Run for the Sun T-Shirt (t-shirt size not guaranteed after 4/15) 
• Virtual Race Packet
• Chance to win prizes by participating in challenges 
• Opportunity to help provide youth with arts education programming 

Teachers:

• Teachers who register for the Run for the Sun will be entered in for a chance to win a free virtual Arts for Learning workshop for their classroom! (Must submit school email address at the end of the registration form to be entered)
