Description
| These are 5K and 10K trail runs on the trails of the Salamonie State Forest. The start and finish are at the pavilion on 600E. This is at the tailwaters of the Salamonie River Dam. There will be a cookout after the race on the pavilion grill. Runners will go up a steep trail from the pavilion to then go across the top of the Salamonie Dam. The remainder of the course is through the wooded trails in the Salamonie State Forest before returning across the dam, down the hill and to the finish line. The Salamonie State Forest and the adjacent Kokiwanee Nature Preserve of ACRES, Inc. are the site of numerous waterfalls. Bald Eagles make their home along the bluffs of the Salamonie. |
