Description
Help us celebrate Open Door’s 50th anniversary at the Open Door Decades Dash 5K and 1-Mile Kids' Run! Wear attire from your favorite decade (70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, etc.) and join the fun. This timed event will have winners in various age brackets.
Event proceeds will support Open Door's Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) service, providing comprehensive and compassionate care for people seeking recovery from substance use disorders. Open Door's MAT combines FDA-approved medication with quality medical care, behavioral counseling, and case management, all under one roof in Downtown Muncie.

Course
The 1-Mile Kids' Run loop starts at Canan Commons and runs up Walnut Street to Wysor Street.
The 5K route starts at Canan Commons and runs through the heart of downtown Muncie, along the White River, and through the historic Minnetrista campus—using both White River and Cardinal Greenways. For more details about the course, click here.

All 5K Race participants will receive: a short-sleeve Decades Dash t-shirt (with option to upgrade), race bib, and finisher medal
1-Mile Kids' Run
All 1-Mile Kids' Run participants will receive: a short-sleeve Decades Dash t-shirt, race bib, and finisher ribbon
Race t-shirts and specific sizes are not guaranteed after September 20, 2024.
Packet pick-up
Location & Time
Packet pick-up is available the day before and the morning of the race. Your t-shirt and race bib will be in your packet.
Friday, October 11: Pick up at the Open Door Administration Building, 220 S. Walnut Street, Muncie.
Pick-up times are 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. or 5–7 p.m.
Saturday, October 12: Pick up at Canan Commons, 600 S. Walnut Street, Muncie.
Pick up time is 7–8:30 a.m.
Parking
Free parking is available at Open Door locations. Most street parking is free but limited to 2 hours.
Open Door Administrative Building
Parking lot is located behind/east of the building. Enter from Mulberry Street to avoid race day street closures.
Open Door Downtown Health Center
The main parking lot is in front/north of the building. Enter from E. Adams Street.
The employee parking lot is located to the west of the building. Enter from E. Charles Street.
Public Parking Garage

Located next to the Courtyard Muncie at Horizon Convention Center hotel
Northwest Bank
Northwest Bank is located at 110 E. Charles St., Muncie. The parking lot is located at the corner of E. Charles St. and S. Mulberry St.
