Description
The Autism Program at Ancilla College (APAC) is a fee-based, college-level program designed to assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) build social, workplace, and academic skills. APAC is for students who, while academically capable, face challenges with communication, social interactions, and group educational settings. APAC also helps promote successful immersion into our small, rural, and supportive campus community.
The APAC 5K is a great way to support this program as proceeds will benefit the students through scholarships and activities. As well as allow the students in the program opportunities to utilize the skills they are learning by helping organize and run the event.
A special feature of this event is the inclusion of a sensory area for kids who need a break from the excitement. Away from the action, the room will include a quiet space with low lighting and offer different tactile sensory experiences.
