Kick off this year's Thanksgiving week with the 8th Annual Everbody's Turkey Trot Fun Run. This year's fun run will be slightly different than past years due to the covid pandemic.
We had planned to offer 2 options this year: in person or virtual, but we are shifting to VIRTUAL ONLY in light of Governor Holcomb's latest executive order. Since Perry County is currently red, we cannot gather in groups of more than 25. We respect that and certainly want to keep you as safe and healthy as possible!
We would LOVE to have you participate virtually (Nov 21st - 28th) in the most creative ways, keeping the energy going! Please send us your pictures, so we can celebrate with you!!
The virtual run can be done between Nov. 21 and Nov 28th. You pick the distance - 1-mile, 5k or 10k - route, day and time. By doing the race this way we can maintain social distancing and still allow for the traditional kickoff to the holiday season. It will also allow those who normally participate but aren't able to be in Tell City to still partake in this annual tradition. Once you complete your run, submit proof of time and distance to email@example.com.
If you feel comfortable running it in-person you have the option to run it on Thanksgiving Day, at 8:30 a.m., starting at Everbody's Fun & Fitness Center. The route that day will be the traditional 5k. What better way to start Thanksgiving Day by pre-burning calories before the day's large meal(s)? Social distancing will be encouraged.
However, we realize some of you prefer in-person events. If you have already registered to do it in-person you can change and do it virtually or defer your registration to 2021, we need to know ASAP. Please contact us by 11 am on Thursday, November 19 to let us know if you are going to forge ahead and Trot Virtually (so we can order your shirt) or if you would prefer to wait for 2021 (we'll save your entry fee and you'll get next year's shirt instead). We need to hear from you either way.Keep an eye on the Everbody's Turkey Trot Facebook page and race page at everbodys.com for daily challenges between Nov 21st and the 26th. Dress up in your favorite turkey outfit, send us a photo, and you could win a fabulous gift!!
This year there will be no age group medals. In place of the medals we will be drawing for door prizes on throughout the week. Water and sports drinks will be provided throughout the week at Everbody's for those running and walking. All registered participants who complete the fun run will receive a long sleeve hooded shirt. Register by noon on Nov. 19th to have a shirt available for pickup or mailing on or before Thanksgiving Day. Shirts will be held for pick up until December 31, 2020. After the 31st all shirts that haven't been picked up will go on sale to the general public.
Due to the covid shut down of businesses earlier in the year we will not be seeking sponsorship donations this year. As a "Thank You" to our loyal businesses who have sponsored the race in the past we will be listing them on the back of the race shirts and on the sponsors page.
To compete in this year's Virtual race you will need to register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/TellCity/Everbodys2020VirtualTurkeyTrotFunRun, download a paper registration at everbodys.com or in person at Everbody's Fun & Fitness Center.
This year, as in past years, all proceeds will go to a local family in need.
