FAQs

When and where does the race take place?
The 10th Annual Orange County Bar Association Law Day 5K race is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024. On-site race registration and late packet pick-up opens at 7:00 am in the field to the right of big fountain. 4990 Broad St,  Race start time is promptly 8:00 am following the National Anthem. The race course begins on New Broad Street and continues around the lake. Please see the race map that is located on our race website.

How long is the course?
The 5K is 3.1 miles.

How will I be timed?
The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.

When and where do I pick up my registration materials?
Race packet pick up for the general public will occur at the Orange County Bar Association, 880 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32801 on Wednesday, February 28 2 - 10 AM to 2 PM, Thursday, February 29th 10 - 2 PM to 5 PM, or Friday, March 1st - 9 AM to 12 PM. You can also pickup your packet onsite on race day beginning at 7 AM.

How will I receive my results?
Official results are posted for the top runners in each category, race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website. We will update this section with the website link for the race results.  

Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
No, a custom chip and race bib will be provided.

Who receives a race shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete their online race registration and payment prior to January 31st are guaranteed a free race shirt.  Participants who register prior to April 1st will receive their race shirt and preferred size. The remaining shirts for registrations received after April 1st and day of registrations are available on a first come, first serve basis until we run out. 

Who receives a custom finisher medal?
The first 600 registrants that finish the 5K will receive a customized finisher medal, designed for the event.  Participants after 500 may are not guaranteed a finisher medal.

Can I participate in the event with my dog, cat, pig, tiger, monkey or my other pets?
Sorry, as much as we love our pets too, the safety of our race participants is our main concern. Therefore, we do not allow pets on the course.  We ask that you please leave your pet cat, dog, pig, tiger, monkey and all other pets at home.  

Can I participate with a stroller?
Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority and demonstrating healthy lifestyles to our kids is special. However, we ask those participating with a stroller, line up the after the runners at the start line.  Please listen for directions on where to line up at on the day of the race.

What do I do with my personal items while I’m running?
We highly recommend that you leave your personal items at home or in your car.  We are not responsible for lost items.

How do I register?
You may register online (preferred method). Go to www.runsignup.com/ocbalawday5K

How can I register and pay for several race registrations at once?
You may pre-pay for registrations by completing the attached Group Registration Pre-Payment form (listed at the bottom of the FAQ section) and mailing to the Orange County Bar Association.  You will receive a race registration code that will be valid for only the number of race registration that have been paid for.  This will allow your race participants to register directly at www.runsignup.com/ocbalawday5K 


I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds. There are no race registration transfers. You may elect to participate virtually!

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a NO TRANSFER policy.

Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.

Where do I park?
Parking is available all around Baldwin Park on the neighboring streets and parking garages.  It is recommended that you arrive no later than 7:30 AM to allow time for parking and walking to the race site.

What is the SignUp Fee?
The "SignUp fee" is a fee that is charged by RunSignUp to process your race registrations.  The sign up fee is based on by the total amount of transactions at the time of check out not by runner.

Do I have to register online?
Online registration is preferred.  However, if you would like to complete a paper registration form, please submit a request to OCBALawDay5K@ocbanet.org.  Due to the significant additional time it takes to handle paper registrations, there will be a $3.00 handling and processing fee per each paper registration submitted.
