2023 Update:

Race Headquarters for 2023 is at the National Federation of Fitness and Sport (NIFS).  NIFS is three buildings west of the Indiana State Museum - the former host site for Indy Piston in 2021 and 2022.  Why did the location change?  Several positive benefits!!  Here's a few:
1. Indoor restrooms and locker rooms with showers! during NIFS business hours.  They are open from 7:00am-5:00pm both Saturday and Sunday.
2. A paved patio for our main aid station to enable us to better accommodate all Indy Piston participants.
3. We determined the most congested area of the old course utilized by other WRSP patrons was right by the Indiana State Museum.  Moving to NIFS removes that section of the course to help increase safety and provide a better overall experience for Indy Piston participants.
4. Packet pickup will be at NIFS on Friday evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm.  This will allow participants to preview the venue and course layout in the daylight before the race.

Basecamp:

The start/finish, aid station, restrooms and personal camps for The Indy Piston Endurance Run will be at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport.

Yellow Arrows: Route to enter / exit race headquarters each lap throughout the race.
Blue Arrows: Access camp / aid station at the end of a lap prior to beginning a new lap.  The aid station will be accessible from both the camp area and the running lane for runners seeking a full stop or just a quick refuel.
Red Arrow: Finisher exit.  Once you have completed your final lap, you will exit the course into the timing tent for result verification, awards, and finisher photo.
Black Line: Start / finish line.

Indy Piston Endurance Run Course:

For 2023, we have moved race headquarters, but the turn around point will be the same as 2022.  The overall distance for each lap is 3.125 miles for ultra distances.  The Sunday half marathon participants will continue past the ultra turn around a short distance and reach the half marathon turn around at 3.275 miles per lap.  The benefits of the new lap consists of a wider turn around area, great camaraderie for each race distance, and a hydration aid station at the turn around!  The entire course is still fully lit up making it perfect for those night hours. There is minimal elevation change on the route assuring the best chances for accomplishing your racing goals!

Ultra Distances

The 3.125 Mile loop will best accommodate each race distance.  Turn around at the ultra turn around point each lap.
50k = 10 Laps
50M = 16 Laps
100k = 20 Laps
100M = 32 Laps

Runners are responsible for their own specific energy products, electrolyte supplements, medications, and personal hygiene products.  Runners are also strongly encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.  There will be plenty of room in the camp area for each runner to have their own gear bag, cooler, chair, etc!  Those with strict dietary requirements or specific medical conditions are advised to pack needed items at camp or carry with them on the course.  *Note: WRSP rules prohibit the use of personal generators and grills/open flame.  Nearby power outlets will be used by event staff to conduct the event and will not be available for runner use.

We strongly advise all runners to have a headlamp or flashlight and red tail lamp for the overnight hours.  While the course is lit, RMP staff members and security officers will be mobile on the course during the event to ensure runner safety, and your own light sources help us see you!
