No Place Like Nome 5k

The No Place Like Nome 5k fun run starts and ends at Fox Run Lodge on the Glenn Highway. Race start is 6:30 pm! The course uses the Mat Lake trail system and is a "longer" 5k (somewhere between 3.2 - 4 miles). Registrants are welcome to race, run, jog, or walk! After the race, registrants will receive a race tee-shirt and beer or root beer from Bearpaw River Brewing Company. Prizes will be offered for winners and runners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) up in men's, women's, and children's (14 and younger) divisions.

This is a 5k fun run to support Mari Troshynski and Red Dog Racing in Iditarod 2017! Mari has been mushing sled dogs for 15 years and finally gets the oportunity to run Iditarod in 2017 with Red Dog Racing. Last year, Mari helped train the team at Red Dog Racing that took 10th place in the Iditarod! In order to run Iditarod, Mari will need to raise over $10,000 in order to help pay for dog booties, food, costs of shipping gear to checkpoints on the race, and many other expenses! Proceeds from the No Place Like Nome 5k go directly to Mari and the dogs at RDR. You can also make a donation to Mari's Iditarod fund!
