The Big Run 5K - Birmingham's Toughest 5K

Celebrate Global Running Day with us again in 2025 by tackling Birmingham's toughest 5k course!

Global Running Day celebrates what makes running so special–camaraderie and friendship, endorphins and accomplishment, and the chance to challenge your personal limits on a challenging but fun course.

This year's 5K race will be held on the Saturday before Global Running Day, May 31st at 8am. The race will start and end at Fleet Feet Birmingham. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama.

Each Big Run 5K finisher will receive a finisher's medal!

Start time: Saturday, May 31, 2005 - 8am
Start Location: Fleet Feet Birmingham (3060 Healthy Way, Suite 100, Birmingham, AL 35243)
Course Map: Find the course map here
Course description: A fun (and hilly) 5k out and back route through the Altadena area of Vestavia. Work hard on the hills going out, but enjoy the ride down on the way back!
Packet Pickup and on site registration: Friday, May 30 from 10am-6pm at Fleet Feet Birmingham
Parking: In the Patchwork Farms Publix Parking Lot
Prizes: Prizes awarded to overall and age group winners
