Fairhope Pirate Dash 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run

Description

The Fairhope Elementary Schools Pirate Dash 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run is set for March 2, 2024. This beloved Fairhope community event supports all three Fairhope Elementary Schools: Fairhope East Elementary School, Fairhope West Elementary School & J. Larry Newton Elementary School. In it's 9th year, the 5k route takes participants through the Fruit & Nut District of downtown Fairhope and finishes along beautiful Mobile Bay at Knoll Park. The 1-Mile Fun Run is an out and back route along Bayview Ave. We hope you will join us for this year's Pirate Dash and help make a substantial impact on early education in Fairhope.

Race Day Details

Thank you for registering for the 2024 Pirate Dash 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run. We are excited to have a record number of participants this year. We are looking forward to seeing you on race day! Here are a few details for Saturday:

Pirate Dash 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run
When: Saturday, March 2, 2024
Time: 8:00 am 5k Start @ Bayview St. at Fairhope Ave.
9:00 am Fun Run Start @ Knoll Park / Henry George Bluff Park (Magnolia Ave. at Fairhope Ave.)
Packet Pick Friday, March 1, 5-7 pm at Running Wild (Fairhope)
Race Day Packet Pick Up: 6:45am - 7:45am @ Knoll Park / Henry George Bluff Park (Magnolia Avenue at Fairhope Avenue)

Packet Pick Up
Participants who specified their school/homeroom teacher when registering will have their participant packet & t-shirt sent home in their bookbag on Thursday, February 29. 2024. All other participants may pick up their participant packet & t-shirt at the Pirate Dash Pre-Party on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Running Wild Fairhope. Plan to stick around, shop, and hang out!

Any participant bags not picked up on Friday evening will be at the information table at Knoll Park / Bluff Park on race morning (Saturday, March 2) from 6:45 am until 7:45 am for 5k and 8:30 am for Fun Run.

5k Race Chip Timing & Bib
We are excited to offer chip timing this year for the 5K. Please do not forget your bib on race day! When you receive your bib for the 5k it will have a chip on the back. Please do not remove that chip. The Fun Run will not be chip timed.

Parking
Please allow time to find parking as we are expecting a record turnout. Additionally we ask that you please not park on Magnolia Ave west of Bayview Ave. As this is the finish area, any vehicle in this zone will not be able to leave until all race events are complete.

Awards
5K awards will be given to the top male & female in each age group. All Fun Run participants will receive a foot bead when they cross the finish line! The awards presentation will begin immediately following the Fun Run.

Route
The 5k & Fun Run Routes are on The Pirate Dash webpage. The 5k route has lots of turns so please take a look at the route. We will have volunteers along the route directing runners & walkers.
The 1-Mile Fun Run route has recently been updated for safety reasons.
