Race cancelled due to weather
Dear Participants, Vendors, Volunteers, and Supporters,
Due to thunderstorms and severe weather expected overnight and into the race hours, we regret to inform you that we must cancel The Torch Run 5K Trail Run and Family Mile scheduled for April 25, 2026.
While we are incredibly disappointed to share this news, the safety of all participants, volunteers, and families remains our top priority.
We want to express our sincere gratitude for your support, excitement, and generosity. Because of your sponsorships, registration and donations, Tabernacle Christian School’s PTO fundraising efforts have been a success! Your contributions directly impact our ability to support teachers, staff, and students, helping create meaningful opportunities and enhancements for their future. So regardless of weather, thank you!
Although the race will not take place, you will not leave empty-handed! Race Day Packets (including your goody bag, T-shirt, and medal) available for pickup on Monday, April 27th, on the front porch of the TCS Auditorium between 9:30-11:00 am and between 6:00 pm-7:00 pm.
We truly apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Unfortunately, the weather is beyond our control, and we appreciate your understanding and grace.Thank you again for being such an important part of The Torch Run.

Join us for the 2nd Annual Torch Run! Rally together for a Family Mile or 5k Trail Run!
The Torch Run is a high-energy, family-friendly celebration featuring an activity for the whole family! Put on by Tabernacle Christian School's Parent Teacher Organization, this family friendly event brings a great opportunity to support a great cause!
Participate in a Family Mile which is great for those who desire a paved run or walk for all ages! Only 1 mile and great for strollers, too!
Those looking for a more challenging route, join us for a scenic 5k Trail Run on mixed terrain!
With participants ranging from casual walkers to competitive runners, this event draws families and athletes from Gardendale, Northern Alabama, and throughout the greater Birmingham area!
Come enjoy great music, vendors, food and games, too!
