Description
Run for Recovery is a community event created to encourage conversation about substance abuse and recovery. Encouraging these conversations creates a substantial impact by supporting individuals to receive help. Join the conversation by registering for Run for Recovery on October 14, 2023.
Each year, Run for Recovery is hosted at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL. All are welcome to run, walk, and support friends and family to raise awareness and empower and strengthen bonds within our community. Register to run or walk to show your support for individuals and families that have been affected by substance abuse and mental illness.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Stuart C. Chandler Memorial Scholarship. Our community lost Stuart in April of 2020 after his fight with severe mental illness. There has never been a more important time to shine light on all mental health issues as we continue to face unprecedented times. Stuart's story is such a testament of just how much mental health can impact our physical health.
Mental illness comes in all forms and never discriminates. Run for Recovery is an event that allows the community to support one another and create a conversation about substance abuse and mental health that is encouraging, empowering, and impactful.
Let's talk about recovery.
