Description
September 11, 2001 changed the face and course of the United States in profound ways. But in the midst of this great tragedy, it brought recognition to our first responders. Romans 13 tells us that our first responders are ministers of God and as such we should honor, respect and recognize where God has placed them.
This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of that horrific day. Shiloh Baptist Church and the sponsors of our Run Blue Red 5K Run/Walk would like to say thank you to those who serve as first responders in our community. We will be holding this Run Blue Red 5K Run and one mile walk on Saturday, September 10 at 8 a.m. with the 5K run first followed by the one mile fun run/walk. All the proceeds from this event will be distributed between the Saraland Police Department and the Saraland Fire Department.
We will be hosting a worship service the following day, Sunday, September 11 at 10:15 a.m. which will be patriotically centered. During this service we will be presenting these departments with a check derived from the fundraiser proceeds. In addition, we will be providing a meal following the service to pay recognition to these first responders.
