Description
Runners like beer, but there’s only one race where they can drink and run at the same time
The 5th Annual Arkansas ALE Run starts at 12 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Town Center on Sunday, November 10 features four beers, one mile and one big party to raise funds and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS affects about 6,000 people through the nation each year.
Participants include runners, walkers, rollers and drinkers who unite for a fun-filled event capped off by an unforgettable after party featuring live music, gourmet food, games and great people. Those over 21 and choosing to drink alcohol must consume four cans of beer and run four laps around Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center (start – beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap – finish). Root beer is provided to those who want to participate who are under 21 or choose not to consume alcohol. Registration is $40 per person or $120.00 for relay team max of (4)
