The City of Marianna's second annual 5K Fun Walk/Run was organized by the City of Marianna’s newly elected Mayor to encourage healthy activity among members of the community. Hosted at Marianna’s Park on the Square, the Marianna Healthy Living 5K Fun Walk/Run will bring together participants who celebrate the City’s new commitment to their health and wellbeing.
Since taking office in 2022, the mayor has made it a priority to focus on healthy lifestyles, moving from a perception of a city that does not value health to a city open to making healthy lifestyles a priority. It is the focus of this Run/Walk to center on the community and attract community participants to this event that encourages healthy relationships that will eventually grow into healthy lifestyles. The 5K Fun Walk/Run event will attract participants from all over the United States and will include many activities to show how you can have fun while at the same time practicing a healthy lifestyle.
Marianna is a small but mighty town nestled on the banks of the L’Anguille River in the Arkansas Delta. Incorporated in 1870 as a river agricultural town, Marianna boasts a few of Arkansas’ most iconic gems.
With a population of just under 4000 people, you will certainly experience the small-town southern charm. This delightful town has a lot to offer its visitors, whether you are a history buff, a nature lover, or a foodie, you will find something that will entice you.
For a small town, Marianna is filled with lots of historic gems and historical landmarks that you must see for yourself.

Diabetes Association and the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation. The event will culminate at Marianna's
Downtown Court Square. The race will run through downtown Marianna and across many beautiful
historic streets Thanks to people like you, last year s event was a huge success and this year we plan to
exceed that success and much more,
As a committee, we have decided to focus on healthy living by encouraging citizens of Marianna to

practice healthy lifestyles. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in a fun filled morning of
events to show that living healthy does not have to be a challenge
In the past Marianna has been the host city for 5K events. Those events were successful; however,
sustainability presented a challenge. We plan to expand on the efforts of past event planners and include
more community-oriented events to increase interest,

helps us to meet our fund-raising goal. In addition, your contribution is tax deductible under IRC Section
170.
