Dear racer,
As you may have been expecting, due to the current situation with the Coronavirus, we have had to make the tough decision to cancel the Hotshot Half Marathon for 2020. Aside from the guidelines on social distancing, we would not be able to provide the logistics for the race due to the closure of campgrounds and government facilities.
Below you will have the option for a refund (minus the $4.20 RunSignup processing fee) or if you don’t want a refund, your registration fee will be donated to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation in Damian Rivadeneyra’s name. We would ask that you be patient with the refunds and not ask for a chargeback through your credit card company, as we would incur a $7.50 fee for each of these chargebacks. Please respond by April 25th. If we don’t hear from you by then, we will assume you are donating your registration.
Current CDC recommendations suggest getting outdoors and exercising, so we encourage all of you to use the month of April to find a day that works for you, get out to your local trails and still run 14.5 miles in honor of Damian, regardless if you ask for a refund or not. The Bullards trail is still open for now, and you are welcome to still run the course, but please remember to practice social distancing, and know that there will be no course markers or aid stations. We would love to see posts of everyone completing their 14.5 mile run on the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/829886360762752/.
Stay safe!

Come join the fire community for a beautiful 14.5 mile trail run along Bullards Bar Reservoir. Hosted by the Tahoe Hotshots, The 4th Annual Hotshot Half is a fundraiser for fallen firefighter and beloved friend Mike Kelly. The course is 95% single track with the remaining course being mostly fire roads. There will be 3 fully stocked aid stations hosted by local fire departments, Forest Service employees, and local Camptonville community members. There will be a hearty plate of warm food and an award at the finish line for all participants. 100% of the money raised will go to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, and the North San Juan and Camptonville Volunteer Fire Departments.
