5k for $5k Scholarship Fundraiser- Compton Run Club

About the Event:

The 5k for $5k Scholarship Fundraiser is an event and race in Compton, CA. We aim to raise $10,000 to award two $5,000 scholarships to Compton Unified High School Seniors. Compton Run Club, Essentia Water, and partners have come together for this event. Registration includes a bib, medal, giveaways, and entry into the raffle. The event will have music, snacks, raffles, race warm-ups, yoga, and more. 

Contribution:

We have raised over $40,000 for Compton High School Seniors so far.

T-Shirts

T-shirts are available for add-on purchase. Before check-out, select your t-shirt size. Select "no shirt" from the drop-down box if no shirt is desired. The T-shirt order deadline is June 13, 2025. (We may extend if needed. Not guaranteed) T-shirt design to be announced in May. 

Parking

Free street parking is available on Redondo Beach Boulevard outside Alma's Backyard Farm. 

Race Packets:

Race packets include a bib, a medal, giveaways, and a raffle ticket. They are available on the day of the event. 

Event Check-in:

When checking in, locate the Compton Run Club tent and provide your name. 

Estimated Event Timeline:

• 7:30 am - 7:50 am: Early Yoga (Open to all) 
• 7:50 am - 8:30 am: Check-in
• 8:30 am - 8:45 am: Announcements/Warm up/Stretching 
• 8:45 am - 10:15 am: Run/Walk
• 10:15 am -12:30 pm: Raffle/Food/Vendors/Acknowledgement/Giveaways

Restrooms: 

Restrooms are available onsite. 

Virtual Race: 

For virtual races, complete your 5k between 6/21/25 and 6/28/25. Tag the Compton Run Club on social media in a story or post. Packets will be mailed the week following the in-person event. 

Shipping Packets:

Add the number of packets in the shipping section. The next screen will request an address. 

Yoga: 

If participating in yoga, please bring a yoga mat. 

Raffle:

Each race packet will have a raffle ticket. Be sure to locate your ticket. 

Route:

Head west on Redondo Beach Blvd, right onto Avalon, right onto Compton Blvd, right onto Central, right onto Alondra, right onto Avalon, right onto Redondo Beach Blvd. (Alma's Farm)
