Description
Every year LAAHU (Los Angeles Association of Health Underwriters) hosts a charity event with hundreds of attendees benefiting an organization that goes above and beyond in its community services and efforts to benefit those in need. This year, LAAHU has decided to do something new (and hopefully will be continued for many years to come) to fit the services of our beneficiary- a Charity 5k Run/Fun Walk! On March 16, 2019 we will be holding our first 5k Run/Fun Walk in support of Fit 4 The Cause! Fit 4 The Cause principally services low-income communities where many residents experience metabolic and ambulatory challenges, and provides licensed fitness instructors and nutritional educators to roughly 2,000 beneficiaries including: at-risk teens, fragile seniors, and vulnerable children. Join us in our efforts to support Fit 4 The Cause by registering to participate and/or directly donate today! 100% of proceeds will be directly donated to Fit 4 The Cause. Route & Terrain Information
TERRAIN INFORMATION: The terrain is part trail and part cement sidewalk. The route is mostly flat with little change in uphill/downhill elevation, and all elevation change is slight. It is friendly on the body for anyone with knee/hip/etc. problems and is also stroller-friendly for anyone needing to push their child(ren) in a stroller.
The route is also clearly marked and coned/barricaded to keep all participants on the correct route and oversight will be provided to prevent any path mistakes and keep all participants safe and clearly away from any traffic that may be in the area during the event.
Raffle Tickets for Silent Auction
Registrants will have the ability to purchase raffle tickets prior to the start of the race and will be able to drop them into boxes at the Fit 4 The Cause booth for the chance to win various prizes. Raffle tickets are $5 each or can be purchased in a bundle of 5 tickets for $20. Tickets will be drawn at the end of the race and winners will be announced and given their prizes at that time. ***Winners must be present in order to receive their items***. Below is a list of current auction items available at the 5k:
-SIGNED FOOTBALL by Dallas Cowboys legends Emmett Smith and Troy Aikman with Certificate of Authenticity
-One ball card and program suggested by San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford
-4 VIP passes to the week long Dances With Films Festival in Hollywood (June 13-23, 2019)
-One interior design consultation
-One color consultation for interior design project
-9 twosomes to Calabasas Country Club
-2 passes to The Huntington
-One month (2 classes per week) at a dance studio
