Oceanside Pier Swim - 2026

After careful consideration and consultation with the Oceanside Lifeguards and the City of Oceanside, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Oceanside Pier Swim.

The current forecast is calling for an incoming storm, with projected wave heights exceeding 8 feet, strong currents, and heavy rain on race day. While we have waited as long as possible in hopes that the forecast would change, the safety of our athletes and lifeguards must always be our first priority.

We know this is disappointing news, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

Refund & Deferral Options
Because of the cancellation, we are offering the following three options:

1. Automatically defer your entry to 2027
Your registration will automatically roll over to the 2027 Oceanside Pier Swim if we do not hear from you by September 14, 2026. No action is required on your part. We will look forward to seeing you on Monday, September 6, 2027!

2. Receive a full refund, minus processing fees
If you would prefer a refund, please email OsideMasters@gmail.com by September 14, 2026, with your registration details, or select option below. We encourage you to join us again for the 2027 Oceanside Pier Swim when registration opens in January.

3. Donate your entry fee to Oceanside Masters
If you would like to donate your entry fee to Oceanside Masters, please email OsideMasters@gmail.com by September 14, 2026, with your registration details or select option below. Your support will help us continue promoting aquatics and open water swimming in our community. We would love to have you join us again for the 2027 Oceanside Pier Swim when registration opens in January.

We understand how unfortunate this cancellation is. For many of you, the Oceanside Pier Swim is an annual tradition, and we know that travel plans, holiday weekends, and family traditions have been built around this event. We have tried to provide as much notice as possible while also waiting as long as we could for the forecast to improve.

As many of you know, Oceanside Masters puts on this swim. We are a small group of local volunteers who work throughout the year to keep this Oceanside tradition alive. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting aquatics in our community and the open water swimming community as a whole.

Please know that no one is more disappointed to cancel this swim than we are. We feel your disappointment because we are feeling it right alongside you. This is a decision we did not take lightly, but ultimately, we believe it is the right decision for the safety of everyone involved.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and love for the Oceanside Pier Swim. We hope to see all of you back on the pier in 2027.
