Experience the beauty and tranquility of a Trail Less Traveled. Hidden in the foothills around Lake Oroville, the Kelly Ridge and Dan Beebe trails offer miles of twisting terrain to challenge runners of all levels and test seasoned trails fans. This 5K, Quarter Marathon, and ~14-Mile always take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Join us for a beautiful morning on the trails!
Race start times may be tweaked slightly when we get closer to the event to allow for wave starts of 25 participants every 5-10 minutes. Once I have a better idea of number of participants in each event I will make those adjustments.
Refer 3 or more participants and get a refund of up to $5.00! Just share your custom code on your favorite social media sites!

Some key RaceJoy features include:
At this point we do not know what the situation will be in regards to Covid-19 on race day. We will be taking every precaution necessary to make sure that we have a safe event and that runners feel comfortable.
This may mean that some of the start times for events may need to be tweaked to accommodate wave starts. We will stay in communication with our runners as the date gets nearer on anything like this.
We have attached a pdf version of our guidelines for your review. As the date gets closer we will communicate more specifics related to this.
Please let us know if you have questions by emailing email@example.com.

Hello Trail Runners,
I wanted to send everyone an email just to fill you in on a few things related to the race.
14 Miler- 7:30 am
¼ Marathon- 9:00 am
5k- 9:10 am
We will not be doing wave starts but we will be doing socially distanced starts. This means that we will ask for everyone to be spread out a bit from each other at the Start line. We will also be requiring everyone to wear a face covering at the start line and any time you are in the Start/Finish line area of the race.
The California State Parks is requiring all participants to sign the attached Covid Waiver. Please print this out and sign it and bring it with you to packet pick up.
Parking is fairly limited. If you can carpool with other runners that would be great. Please allow yourself a few extra minutes in your schedule in case it takes you longer than expected to find a parking spot on race day.
Here are the days/times set up for packet pick up:
Wednesday May 19th from 5-8 pm at Mulberry Station Brewing Company
These guys have great pizza and beer and are offering anyone who shows their bib that night 10% off of their order.
Mulberry Brewing Company is located at 175 E. 20th St. in Chico
Thursday May 20th from 11 am -3 pm at Fleet Feet Chico
Friday May 21st from 2-5 at Fleet Feet Chico
Fleet Feet Chico is located at 241 Main St. in Chico
You may also pick up your packet on race morning beginning at 6:45 am at the race.
Everyone will get a snack bag of food after the race so stop by the food area to pick yours up after you finish.
If you ordered a burrito that will be waiting for you at the food table as well when you finish.
There will be aid stations at the following mileages:
1.5, 4.5, 8.5, 10.5, and 12.5
All aid stations will have water and some type of gels. There will be volunteers at the aid stations who will need to dispense the water and gels to you. It won’t be self-serve due to Covid restrictions. This is a cupless race so you will need to carry a water bottle or collapsible cup with you in order to receive water. This is also due to Covid restrictions. We also ask that you wear a face covering while stopped at the aid stations.
I have mentioned this in other areas but wanted to call specific attention to it here as well:
· Each participant needs to bring their signed Covid waiver to packet pick up. We will have extras but please try to remember to print and bring your own.
· Everyone must wear a face covering while in the Start/Finish area and at the aid stations.
· Race starts will be socially distanced.
· At aid stations volunteers must dispense water and gels.
· The race is cupless so bring your own water bottle or collapsible cup.
I tested RaceJoy this past weekend and it worked fine so all systems should be go with RaceJoy for the race.
If anyone has questions about any of this, please shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking forward to seeing you all on May 22nd.
